Program Director & Head Instructor
Kru Yai Jenypher Lanthier
My experience in martial arts and Muay Thai has been an adventurous one. I began with Boxing, Kali Escrima, Jeet Kune Do, and Savate. However, once I began Muay Thai, I instantly fell in love and decided that this was the art for me. I had the pleasure of training with many talented people across the GTA.
My mission to each and every student is to help them develop as students, martial artists, and as people. I pledge to support each and every student and also to support and help grow Muay Thai in Ontario and Canada.

Instructor & Head of Children's Program
Kru Cameron Tang Poy
I began training Muay Thai in 2007. I then competed in over a dozen bouts as an amateur athlete both in Canada and the United States. I then found my calling in developing the students and competitive athletes at York Muay Thai.
As a professional school teacher, I have the privilege of combining my passions: Working in Toronto schools during the day and training Muay Thai students by night.

I began training in Muay Thai in 2005 with my cousin at a gym in Woodbridge. Later on in 2008 I joined Xtreme Couture in Toronto and this is where I met Kru Yai Jenypher Lanthier. In 2010 I joined her at York Muay Thai and didn't look back.
To me Muay Thai is beyond a martial art, it is a way of life. It balances me and brings me focus in everything I do. Muay Thai has given me so much that now I want to give back and this is why I wanted to teach and help others. Being an Assistant Instructor (Poo Choi Kru) means a lot to me, and I was an honoured to be chosen to help others and begin to teach other about Muay Thai.

My journey with Muay Thai started when I was 16. During high school I became obsessed with fitness, I’d run to school in the mornings, spend most lunches lifting weights and after school I’d be on the mats. I came to York Muay Thai while studying Kinesiology at York University and was instantly hooked on the attention to detail, the community atmosphere made it easy to go from training partners to friends and eventually after graduating and joining the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, I found a home to practice and put to use what I learned in my degree.
After competing for a short while, I found other passions in Rock Climbing and Cycling, which ultimately led me to find a new opportunity to learn Muay Thai through the role of instructor and give back to the community that gave me so much through the years.

I began my journey looking to start a martial art and Muay Thai was the only one that called out to me. It was a time when women in the sport were few and far between. I started a gym in Scarborough and eventually moved on to Siam No.1, where I found my people. With just over 2 decades of experience, I've been blessed to train under a lot of notable teachers. Because of Muay Thai, it has given me opportunities I would have never thought possible - becoming a Kru, training in Thailand, fighting and in turn cornering fighters throughout North America.
It gives me great pleasure to pass on my knowledge and watch individuals go thru their own personal growth and their muay thai journey.

Instructor
Kru Constantine Kalastos
I started Muay Thai when I was 17. I trained for many years before I started teaching. I have since been invited to teach at other martial art schools which has given me good experience passing on knowledge to different demographics with different backgrounds. I have developed a passion for it.
I have a strong respect for the art and embrace a martial art mentality. I have seen many transformations in myself and others and that progress is what keeps me motivated to continue to pass on Muay Thai to the next generations. Love. Respect. Believe.

My Muay Thai journey has taken me through many roles: student, fighter, MTO official, coach, and instructor. Each experience has deepened my knowledge of the sport and strengthened my passion for teaching. I’m proud to bring that energy, experience, and dedication to every class at YMT.
I believe every student comes in with unique goals, motivations, and challenges, and I enjoy tailoring my approach to help each person grow with confidence. Beyond technique, I believe Muay Thai builds perseverance, discipline, resilience, and self-confidence that extend well beyond the gym.
Above all, I’m passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive community where students feel encouraged, challenged, and inspired to uplift one another.

Prior to joining York Muay Thai in 2009, I had very little competitive success in the martial arts, competing previously in amateur boxing, Karate and BJJ. But thanks to Kru Jen’s tireless training, guidance and mentoring, I have grown as a fighter and as a martial artist. I represented York Muay Thai in the ring 20 times over the next several years, competing regularly from 2010 to 2015. It was during this time that I started to teach classes and train fighters as well. In 2018 I was recognized as a Kru by the Sport Authority of Thailand.
Since then I have changed careers and now work as a Registered Massage Therapist, with expertise in Muay Thai athletes. Not only have I accompanied YMT athletes to several events to help keep their athletes maintained and ready for the ring, but I also travelled with Team Canada to the IFMA World Championship as their RMT. You can find me at YMT helping with fighter’s classes.

Muay Thai gave me direction when I didn’t have any. I fell in love with the art, the endless possibilities, and the challenge of pushing my limits. It’s shaped me into a stronger person inside and outside the ring.
I have a deep passion for this art, and when I teach, my goal is to pass that on. I want people to feel what I feel , to taste the passion, the love, the endless possibilities with in the art form and the meaning Muay Thai has brought into my life.

I began my journey in Muay Thai in 2007 at York University under Kru Yai Jenypher Lanthier. From my very first class, I fell in love with the art and the rich culture behind it. What started as a passion quickly grew into a competitive pursuit, leading me to step into the ring and test my skills. In 2010, I was proud to capture a TBA Championship title, an achievement that marked an important milestone in my journey.
Muay Thai became more than just a sport to me, I value all the life lessons along the way and the journey that York Muay Thai had taken me on!

Instructor
Coach Asma Hassan
I started Muay Thai because I wanted more than just a lifting workout. I wanted to feel strong, capable, and able to defend myself. To this day, training Muay Thai still pushes me out of my comfort zone in new ways, and that’s exactly what keeps me coming back. Over time, it has built my discipline, resilience, and the kind of confidence that comes from seeing yourself improve little by little. That’s the same mindset I bring into my coaching. I focus on technique and detail while making sure you feel comfortable enough to learn. But I’ll also push you, because real progress comes from being challenged. Additionally, with my background as a personal trainer and spin instructor, I bring an understanding of strength, conditioning, and endurance into my classes so you build both skill and strength at the same time.
I’ve gone through the process myself with the support of my coaches here, and now I’m here to help you through yours.

I started my Muaythai Journey in 2010 at a different gym then. I had a friend that went to York Muay Thai and I started at YMT in 2013, initially to stay healthy and in shape. I never imagined for it to be such an interesting journey along the way through competing in the ring, teaching, and still learning as a student.
The sport has become a way of life, a way to grow as a person and help others use Muay Thai a tool to improve themselves.

Poo Choi Arash Rad
I’ve been on my martial arts journey since 1996, and over the years I’ve built my experience through dedication, discipline, and a true passion for Muay Thai. With over 11 amateur fights, I’ve spent time in the ring developing not just technical skill, but the mental toughness that the sport demands.
I began training under Kru Yai Jen in 2007 at the gym, where I developed a strong foundation in authentic Muay Thai and a deep respect for the art.
Becoming a 2010 TBA Tournament Champion was a key milestone in my journey, reinforcing the value of hard work, consistency, and perseverance.
As a coach, my goal is simple: to inspire others to love Muay Thai as much as I do. I believe this sport goes far beyond striking—it builds confidence, resilience, and character that carry into everyday life.
I focus on proper technique, strong fundamentals, and creating a supportive yet disciplined environment where students of all levels can grow. Whether you’re stepping in for the first time or looking to sharpen your skills, I’m committed to helping you improve and reach your full potential.
For me, Muay Thai isn’t just a sport—it’s a lifelong journey, and one I’m proud to share with every student who walks through the door.

Coach Hossein Dialameh
I began my martial arts journey in 2016, starting with kickboxing while overseas, before transitioning to Muay Thai, which I trained in consistently until 2019. It was during this time that I developed a strong passion for the sport, having felt a natural connection to martial arts from a young age.
After returning to Canada, I joined YMT as a student and have continued to grow within the gym. Over the past three years, I have been leading the parents’ class and periodically supporting trial sessions. My approach to coaching is grounded in discipline, continuous learning, and sharing the same enthusiasm for Muay Thai that first drew me to the sport.

Instructor
Poo Choi Kru Terrell Bourne-Cave
I started training Muay Thai in 2012 after 10 years of karate; I've always had a love of marital arts, years of badly dubbed Kung Fu movies and an obsession with Bruce Lee led my parents to enroll me into Karate. While I certainly enjoyed it, especially the more traditional elements of discipline and self-mastery, it didn't quite scratch that itch I felt. It wasn't until a chance sparring match at a marital arts summer camp, and witnessing Tony Jaa in Ong Bak that Muay Thai started calling to me. I took my first trial at York Muay Thai, has the hardest workout of my life, and I've never looked back.
Fighting has always been my aim, and after finally getting my first fight in 2025, I'm itching to continue, but over the years Kru Yai's vision of making better people through Muay Thai really started to resonate with me, and seeing the progress of both my fellow students and instructors was inspiring. That, coupled with a few timely injuries, gave me an opportunity to give back, and help others the way I was helped by senior students as I get myself back into the ring.

Instructor
Coach Jenna Kabakulak
My Muay Thai journey has been one of growth, confidence, and community. Over time, training became more than just a sport to me and has shaped the way I approach challenges both in and out of the ring. As a coach, I enjoy helping students build confidence in themselves while creating an environment where people feel welcomed, supported, and motivated to grow.
I work closely with both the kids program and adult trial students, and I especially enjoy introducing people to their first experiences with Muay Thai in a way that feels positive and encouraging.
If you see me around the gym, feel free to say hi. I am always happy to help support your journey in Muay Thai!

Instructor
Coach Jin Kim
During my adolescence I was privileged enough to practice a variety of martial arts; eventually finding my place in muay thai. I began leading and programming youth recreation in 2018 across a variety of martial arts. Since then I have furthered my understanding of youth recreation & athletics at the University of Waterloo. Here at York I am a Youth Instructor, active member of the fight team and forever a student of the game.

Receptionist Extraordinaire
Priscilla Garcia
Hi, my name is Priscilla and I’m one of the front desk receptionists here.
I first started my Muay Thai journey at another gym where I quickly fell in love with the sport. After some time away, I was lucky to join the team here in a role where I’m able to both train again and be part of such a great community.
I really enjoy helping welcome new members and sharing my passion and excitement for Muay Thai with others who are starting their own journey.
